TWI welcomed Dr Mark Knop, a representative from the Australian Defence Science & Technology Group, to TWI’s headquarters near Cambridge, where he was welcomed by TWI Defence Business Development Manager, Dr James Smith.
Dr Knop spent two days at TWI, where he was shown our capabilities in materials and structural integrity.
Dr Knop was given an introduction to the work carried out by TWI before being taken on a tour of the facilities, with a particular focus on fracture and fatigue testing, NDT inspection methods, surface engineering and advanced multi-functional composites.
There was also an informative insight into the work of the library at TWI, including the information services work that can be provided to businesses and organisations.
The successful visit demonstrates the international reach of TWI’s expertise, and it is hoped that it will lead to further collaborative projects in the future.
