Closed Beta Testing of Pro-CW6 Workshop

Seminars 13-14 October 2025

Closed Beta Testing of Pro-CW6 – TWI’s New Probabilistic CrackWISE® Software

Join us for a two-day, in-person workshop, presented by the TWI Structural Integrity Team, focused on beta testing the new Pro-CW6 platform. This is a unique opportunity to engage directly with the development team, test core features, and provide meaningful feedback to shape the future of CrackWISE®.

Who Should Attend?

This workshop is ideal for:

  • Professionals involved in integrity assessments proficient in CrackWISE® V6
  • Basic understanding of probabilistic fracture mechanics is helpful but not essential. Similarly, prior knowledge of BS 7910 Annexes is not required.

Workshop Overview

This interactive event is designed for professionals involved in engineering critical assessments (ECA) and CrackWISE® workflows. Attendees will get hands-on experience with Pro-CW6, including both deterministic and probabilistic ECA capabilities, and contribute to its development through real-time feedback and discussion.

Day 1: Orientation & Initial Testing

  • Welcome & Introduction to the Team
  • Overview of Beta Testing Goals & Housekeeping
  • Refresher on Deterministic and Probabilistic ECA Methods
  • Live Demo of Pro-CW6
  • Hands-on Testing
  • Group Feedback & Open Discussion

Day 2: Deeper Testing & Collaborative Feedback

  • Extended Hands-on Testing with New Use Cases
  • Individual Feedback Sessions & Surveys
  • Group Panel Discussion with the CrackWISE® Team
  • Summary of Key Insights & Next Steps

Dr Rob Kulka EngD CEng MIMechE - Section Manager - Fracture Integrity Management

Dr Rob Kulka EngD CEng MIMechE

Section Manager - Fracture Integrity Management

Rob Kulka is a chartered mechanical engineer and undertook an engineering doctorate at the University of Manchester, developing the understanding of fracture mechanics behaviours in complex configurations. He has spent twenty years as a structural integrity expert and is now Section Manager for Fatigue Integrity Management at TWI.

Rob has significant experience in analysis of material performance and the demonstration of structural integrity of components in the power, petrochemical, and transport industries, through the use of complex computational analysis, defect tolerance and design code assessments.

Dr Yin Jin Janin - Consultant – Fatigue Integrity Management

Dr Yin Jin Janin

Consultant – Fatigue Integrity Management

Yin Jin Janin is a highly experienced structural integrity engineer with a thorough knowledge of ECA (using both BS 7910, R6 and other procedures) and experience in fracture toughness testing. Employed by TWI since July 2012, she is a Consultant in Fracture and Fatigue Integrity Management section. Her job scope spans across testing, defect assessment, technical peer review as well as design-by-analysis.

Since 2016, she has been actively involved in the revision of British defect assessment procedure BS 7910. She is a member of the main committee and various working groups of BS 7910. Along with the chair of UK Fracture Toughness Testing Committee, she represents UK BSI on ISO committees. Yin Jin is also UK delegate for IIW Commission X and theme lead for Codes and Standards of FESI.

Dr Georgia Schneider - Statistician and Engineer, Fatigue and Fracture Integrity Section

Dr Georgia Schneider

Statistician and Engineer, Fatigue and Fracture Integrity Section

Georgia Schneider is a Statistician and Engineer in the Fracture and Fatigue Integrity Management section of TWI which is a post she has held for two years. Her expertise lies in statistical modelling, with a particular focus on the distributions and correlations of material properties.

Georgia holds a PhD in Mathematics from the University of York, and a first-class MMath degree from the University of Durham.

Dr Amina Boughrara Salman - Oil and Gas Sector Manager

Dr Amina Boughrara Salman

Oil and Gas Sector Manager

Amina Boughrara Salman is a principal engineer with over 15 years of experience in research, development, and training within the oil and gas industry.

She joined TWI Ltd in Cambridge in 2016 and currently serves as the Oil & Gas Sector Manager within the Industrial Membership Services (IMS) team. In this role, she leads industrial engagement, drives business development initiatives, and supports key clients across the sector.

Prior to her current role, Amina held senior technical positions within TWI, including Senior Project Leader in both the Arc Processes and Welding Engineering (AWE) and Condition and Structural Monitoring (CSM) sections. Her work has spanned collaborative project management, technical delivery, and cross-sector innovation, particularly through European and Innovate UK-funded programmes.

Before joining TWI, Amina spent nine years at Schlumberger’s Abingdon Technology Centre in the UK as a Senior Reservoir Engineer. Amina holds a PhD in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Tulsa, USA, and both a Master of Science and Bachelor of Science degree in Physics from the University of Science and Technology “Houari Boumediene” in Algeria.

Paul Brown - Senior Software Engineer

Paul Brown

Senior Software Engineer

Paul Brown is a senior software engineer in the Information, Communication & Technology Group at TWI. He began his career at TWI in 1990, initially working on PD6493, the precursor to CrackWISE.
