Aneeq Javed: Innovation Project Leader, TIM

Wed, 05 October, 2022

Hi Aneeq Javed, can you start by telling us a little bit about yourself and how you came to join TWI?

Before joining TWI, I was working as a Senior Manager; Corporate Finance and Investment Banking at Synergistic Financial Advisors based in Lahore. I have a well-rounded experience of about 7 years mainly in corporate finance advisory. I also have been a part of visiting faculty at FC College Business School where I taught undergraduate courses in Management and Economics. I have a Master’s degree in Economics from the University of Glasgow, UK.

Since I was exposed to numerous industries when working in a financial advisory firm, I came across TWI UK when doing research work for one of the projects I was undertaking. I was keen to learn about TWI as technology research organisation and upon further research I knew TWI is going to be my next learning destination.

Why did you choose to apply to work at TWI – and why in (name of department)?

TWI has a very diverse portfolio of projects when it comes to learning opportunities. On top that, having a very diverse team further enhances one’s learning not only in a professional capacity but in personal capacity as well. Working as an IPL (Innovation Project Leader) is an opportunity for me to understand various bits of TWI operations. Coordination with various stakeholders and taking lead end to end will be a prudent opportunity for me to develop my learning horizon and grow professionally.

What sort of activities have you been involved in so far?

Prior to joining TWI, I was mainly involved in commissioning of the projects and making sure, we, as an organisation, deliver the scope of work with the highest standards in a timely manner. From preparing financial feasibilities and models to information memorandums and feasibility studies, I was involved in each step of corporate finance advisory service.

You are working from TWI Pakistan, but supporting staff in the UK – how have you found this, is it difficult, considering the distance?

Fortunately, I have experience in working with offshore teams, therefore I do not find this difficult.

How about the offices at TWI Pakistan, what is it like working there?

The TWI Pakistan office is a well-designed place to offer its staff convenience and ease of work especially with the offshore team. The staff seems very cordial and helpful. It’s a very welcoming place to be at.

We would like to wish you all the best as you continue to grow your career at TWI, but, before we go, what would you say to anyone who is thinking of working at TWI Pakistan?

TWI Pakistan is a fast growing branch of TWI and anyone who wants to grow professionally should definitely consider joining the organization especially if looking for a diverse professional and social experience.
