Meet us at UK Metals Expo 2025

TWI is pleased to announce that we will be exhibiting at the UK Metals Expo 2025 at the NEC, Birmingham on 10-11 September.

UK Metals Expo is the leading event that brings the entire metals supply chain together with engineering, manufacturing & construction.

The entire metals supply chain will be represented from primary metal manufacturing to supply chain management, design, policy metal processing, metalworking, fabrication, CNC machinery, surface finishing, and recycling.

TWI will be participating in the panel session on Technology Engineering for a 21st Century UK Metals Sector. Join us in the Innovation and Technology Theatre on 10th September at 1.30pm.

Chris Wiseman

Industry Sector Manager - Corporate Development

Chris Wiseman is Corporate Sector Manager at TWI Ltd, for both the Aerospace and Equipment, Consumables & Materials sectors. He also has a specific geographic responsibility for TWI Industrial Members in India and in supporting TWI’s exciting growth there.

As a Materials Scientist, over many years, he has contributed to a number of technologies, including, corrosion prevention, thermo-mechanical forming, novel testing, process optimisation, joining and surface treatments.

Today his role is focused on developing technical and commercial opportunities for TWI and its Industrial Members around the World.

Business Development Executive

Dr Abbasi Gandhi has over 18 years of experience in the manufacturing and RTO based organizations. He worked and managed a wide variety of R&D projects in the following technical areas: bio-nano-technologies, powder metallurgy, heat treatment, thin films, materials processing, materials joining, materials characterisation, surface modification, functional coatings, materials sintering, energy harvesting and thermodynamics. He has been involved on large scale industrial and EU projects as research assistance and finished as Team manager prior to joining TWI in 2019. His main areas of involvement at TWI include diffusion bonding, microjoining (soldering, resistance welding, ultrasonic bonding etc.), powder metallurgy (sintering, processing etc.), functional coatings (bio coating, piezoelectric coatings etc.), surface modification as well as general heat treatments.
