What is a microwave?

A microwave is an electromagnetic wave with a frequency of between 0.3 to 300GHz, which corresponds to a wavelength of 1 metre to 1mm. Wavelength is calculated by dividing the speed of light (300,000,000m/s) by the microwave frequency in Hz.
