TWI Technology Fellow and Consultant, Alan Taylor has been appointed as guest editor for a special issue of the journal, ‘Coatings.’
The topic of the special issue is the ‘Preparation and Characterisation of Superhydrophobic Coatings,’ with a particular focus on the use of these coatings for the reliable generation and delivery of electrical power.
With functional properties including as superhydrophobicity, anti-icing and ice-repellence, these coatings have applications for wind turbines, power lines and solar cells.
The journal are seeking papers related to the industrial adoption of highly repellent coatings, with suggested topics including accelerating aging, fluorine-free coatings, large scale manufacture and recycling.
