We recently held a webinar dedicated to the topic of ‘Structural Integrity Assessment of Offshore Assets.’
The online event, which took place on 15 June 2022, saw around 300 registrations and 150 people joining us live on the day from 45 countries.
The presentation was led by Hadi Khalili BEng MSc PhD MWeldI IEng, a project leader in our asset integrity management team, and introduced the concept and objectives of structural integrity management (SIM) systems.
SIM systems are important for maintaining a reliable structural performance during an asset’s lifespan.
Structural integrity evaluation, which constitutes a key element in the SIM framework, can be used to verify whether an existing structure remains fit for purpose for an anticipated extended operating life or strengthening, modification, and repair are required.
Hadi’s talk focussed on the evaluation part of the SIM framework and how the engineering evaluation reveals whether the structure can meet the objectives of SIM.
