Information from a GeoSmart project factsheet providing insights into the current energy crisis has been picked up and published by CORDIS - The Community Research and Development Information Service.
CORDIS is the European Commission's primary public repository and portal to disseminate information on all European Union funded research projects and their results.
The CORDIS article, which you can see here, highlights how the electricity price crisis has led many to realise that the electricity market is no longer functioning optimally, opening the way for policy discussion on its future.
The GeoSmart factsheet discusses a range of matters including the use of price caps and windfall profits, decoupling the gas and electricity markets, and dividing remuneration of the electricity market between zero carbon and other sources – with a particular focus on fossil fuels.
