The Geo-Drill project consortium, of which TWI is a member are holding a webinar on 23 November detailing the development of innovative new down-the-hole (DTH_ hammer drilling technologies.
The webinar will be presented by Volker Wittig of Fraunhofer IEG, who are partners in the project consortium.
The Geo-Drill project has been developing a DTH hammer system that can run with drill mud and penetrate into deep, hard rock formations using a percussion mechanism with just a single moving part.
The innovation of the new DTH hammer technology will improve the success and economic viability of geothermal drilling operations.
