FSW Symposium: Call for Abstracts

Tue, 18 January, 2022

Submissions are now being invited for the ‘Joint International Symposium on Friction Stir Welding and Processing (ISFSWP),’ which is taking place 28-30 September 2022 at the Leuphana University Lüneburg, Germany.

The symposium is bringing together the ‘International Conference on Scientific and Technical Advances on Friction Stir Welding and Processing (FSWP)’ and the ‘International Symposium on Friction Stir Welding (ISFSW),’ to communicate the latest advances and achievements in friction stir welding and processing research and development.

Submissions for ISFSWP should report on significant results related to any aspect of friction stir welding and processing, including papers on research topics, novel applications, and any papers that cross discipline boundaries within friction stir welding and processing.

Papers should describe new developments in science, technology, applications, industrialisation, performance, quality, design or any other topic relevant to the advancement of FSWP and allied processes. This can also include progress at an incremental level as well as more spectacular advances, and all submissions will be treated in strict confidence until the publication date.

Abstracts should be submitted directly via the submission site: https://ms.hereon.de/isfswp2022/index.php.en

The submission site is open now and the deadline for submission is 8 March 2022 with notification of acceptance due on 15 April 2022 and the final submission of revised extended abstracts set for 30 June 2022.

Abstract Submission Requirements:

The abstracts should be free formatted two-page (A4) extended abstracts (including images and/or tables), containing the paper title, author names, affiliation and contact details. They must be submitted electronically through the ISFSWP abstract submission site (link above) by 8 March 2022.

Authors are required to submit their electronic papers in PDF format. It will be possible to make minor edits to the title and abstract until the acceptance notification on 15 April 2022.

Once accepted, authors will be expected to attend the event and present their papers themselves. The author who will present the paper at the ISFSWP should be clearly indicated and each leading author may submit no more than three abstracts.

Participants from countries that require a visa to enter Germany are reminded that obtaining a visa can take up to three months. You are strongly encouraged to begin the application process early. The Symposium Organising Committee will assist in providing an official visa invitation letter for this conference.
