MAREWIND Project Consortium to Hold 12-Month Meeting

Tue, 09 November, 2021

TWI and the rest of the MAREWIND Project consortium are due to meet for a 12-month progress meeting.

The meeting, which will take place remotely from 23-24 November, will discuss the project progress including technology validation and manufacturing, project management, finances and the dissemination of results.

The MAREWIND Project is bringing together experts from seven EU nations to help meet European Union climate targets through the development of durable materials and recyclable solutions for the offshore wind sector.

The project aims to enhance corrosion protection systems and durability to extend the life of offshore wind assets. This includes the delivery of effective antifouling solutions without the use of biocides, erosion protection and mechanical reinforcement for wind turbine blades, predictive modelling and monitoring, and increased recyclability.

The project, which is being coordinated by Lurederra Technology Centre (Spain), will also create a range of new job opportunities as the consortium’s 16 partners complete nine work packages covering the whole value chain of the offshore wind sector.

You can find out more about the project at the MAREWIND website here.

The MAREWIND project has received funding from the European Union's Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement No 952960
