TWI Support for Members during COVID-19

Fri, 27 March, 2020

Firstly, from all of us here at TWI, we hope that you and your families are safe and well at this difficult time.

The current situation is having a major impact on all of us, and TWI is adopting measures in line with government recommendations. At the same time, TWI is maintaining support for its Industrial Members as far as possible. As a provider of R&D, consultancy, training and certification, we are continuing with the following levels of support for Industrial Members:

Research, development, testing and consultancy support – project support at TWI.

With appropriate safety measures in place, a large proportion of TWI’s lab/engineering technicians are continuing to work at our sites to deliver critical projects for Industrial Members. Please contact your account manager or technical section project leader for updates on any proposal/project you have with us, or if you have a need for further support. For consultancy, whilst there are current restrictions with on-site support, our engineers can offer live discussion via telephone or web-conferencing as required.

Technical enquiries support – via our duty engineer and information services teams.

Through remote working, we are still providing technical assistance to Member enquiries via telephone or email. Our experts and engineers are available for online technical discussions. This is a valuable resource to all companies affected by the unavailability of key technical staff. The range of technologies and laboratory testing services we can assist with can be seen here.

Staff training and development.

If you and your staff are working from home, there is an opportunity to support continuing professional development by accessing the wealth of technical and training materials available. There are 5000+ pages of technical articles, best practice guides, FAQs, published papers and more that are accessible via our website. Login or register if you are an Industrial Member for full access. This also extends to advice on individual and company certification – contact our team here; or professional development via The Welding Institute.

To respond to the current situation, TWI Training has transformed most of our training materials to online courses available via TWI Virtual Academy. Please contact salessupport@twitraining.com to receive the details of the programmes.

Support for collaborative funding.

If your company is interested in participating in the European or UK government funded projects or seeking funding to leverage cost for solving engineering problems, TWI can help you by joining the TWI Innovation Network (https://www.twi-innovation-network.com ). We can assist companies to develop project concepts, build reputable consortiums and produce high quality proposals.

Your focus may have shifted to other areas of business; medium-long term initiatives, and helping your staff with training and support. Whatever you are looking to do, please remember we are here to support our Members in any way we can during this time.
