A number of experts are presenting papers at the International Thermal Spray Conference and Exposition (ITSC) in Yokohama, Japan.

The event, which runs from 26-29 May, includes keynote presentations, technical sessions, an exposition of state-of-the-art products and services, and an industrial forum, amongst other things.

Mike Walker of the University of Leicester will speak on work completed in collaboration with TWI on the ‘Residual Stress Development of Laser Assisted Cold Sprayed Ni Alloy 718 Coatings.’

Elsewhere, TWI’s Dr Melissa Riley will provide a talk on the ‘Deposition of Silicon Carbide-Based Coatings using High Velocity Oxy-Fuel Spraying,’ and Mr Dibakor Boruah of Coventry University will present on work completed alongside TWI on ‘Residual Stresses Induced by Cold Spraying Ti-6Al-4V on Ti-6Al-4V Substrates.’
