Congratulations to Carol Johnston and the TWI fatigue testing team for winning an OMAE 2022 Best Paper Award!
The paper, ‘Effect of Low Pretension on the Fatigue Performance of Large Bolts’ (OMAE2022- 78556) reports results of a TWI Core Research Programme (CRP) project, where tests on M72 hot dip galvanized bolts demonstrated the effect of intentionally low levels of pretension on fatigue performance of the bolts.
Presented by the ASME OOAE Awards Committee, it was one of just 10 papers given the award as selected from 900 papers presented at the conference.
The Offshore Mechanics and Arctic Engineering (OMAE) conference is widely recognised as a premier global event for professionals and researchers in the field of offshore engineering. This prestigious conference serves as a platform for knowledge sharing, exploring advancements, and fostering collaboration among industry experts and academia.
At TWI, we take particular pride when our team's achievements are recognised.
Congratulations, Carol and team!
