Senior Project Leader, Feifei Zhang is due to present at the ACT Knowledge Sharing Workshop, which is taking place in Paris from 4-5 October 2023.
Feifei’s presentation, ‘CoCaCO2la: Conversion of Captured CO2 to Industrial Chemicals,’ will offer details of the collaborative ‘CocaCO2La’ project.
The project has seen TWI collaborate with five other organisations to explore the conversion of CO2 to ethylene using a nanostructured copper catalyst.
This will not only reduce CO2 emissions, but will also allow excess renewable energy to be harnessed at times of grid overload or when energy prices are low. The converted ethylene can, meanwhile, be used for processes such as the production of polyethylene, adding additional benefits for industry.
TWI is joined in the project by the Idaho National Laboratory (INL), USA, the University of Leicester (ULEIC), UK, the Centre for Research and Technology Hellas (CERTH), Greece, Technovative Solutions Limited (TVS), UK, and Pilkington Technology Management Limited (PTML), UK.
About ACT
The EU’s Accelerating CCS Technologies (ACT) programme is an international initiative to establish CCUS as a tool to combat global warming, providing funding to projects
The focus of the ACT Knowledge Sharing Workshop is to share knowledge, experiences and results from the ongoing ACT3 projects and the knowledge and the ambitions of ACT4 projects. In addition, the workshop provides the opportunity to generate new ideas and build new networks.
