Welding of Moulded Plastics Components Training

Tue, 31 August, 2021

We are due to run our popular ‘Welding of Moulded Plastics Components’ training course again, which is aimed at engineers, machine operators and technicians who wish to gain an understanding and appreciation of various welding and joining processes as well as their suitability for different polymer types.

The course will deliver information on the advantages and limitations, materials, welding parameters, equipment, joint design, and applications for the different welding processes (hot plate, spin, infrared, ultrasonic, vibration and laser).

There will also be information on hot air and ultrasonic staking, an introduction to plastics, details of mechanical and non-destructive testing as well as practical demonstrations of techniques including ultrasonic, hot plate, vibration and laser welding, and hot air staking.

Attendees will gain the required welding knowledge for the design of plastic moulded parts for complex, high integrity applications as well as the information necessary to optimise welding processes and troubleshoot production problems.

The three-day course will end with a multiple choice exam and you can find out more about this course here.
