The ICEMART Project has been ‘highly commended’ by the IChemE Global Awards 2020. The project was entered into the Research Project Award category, which recognises the best chemical engineering research project undertaken since 1 July 2017.
Each project in the Research Project Award category should demonstrate potential or actual application in industry, and ICEMART was shortlisted as one of eight finalists for the awards webinar event that took place on 3 November 2020.
Each of the eight finalists had the opportunity to deliver a 5-10 minute presentation, with ICEMART demonstrating how it is meeting the global need for an effective, passive icephobic coating. The presentation also showed how ICEMART and the associated ICELIP projects are addressing this need as well as how the project partners fit together to cover every aspect of the value chain in developing a solution for the marketplace.
While ICEMART didn’t win the final overall research award, it was recognised with a certificate as ‘highly commended.’
