COVID-19 in India: An Urgent Request for Help

Mon, 26 April, 2021

TWI has received an urgent message from the UK India Business Council (UKIBC) on behalf of the governments of India and the UK.

UKIBC chair, Richard Heald wrote to us to ask for assistance to India in their fight against COVID-19.

With India having supported the UK in 2020 as the pandemic spread, it is now only appropriate that the UK does what it can to return the support in 2021.

Both the UK and the Indian governments have asked the UKIBC to engage with businesses and seek support to alleviate the challenging situation in India.

TWI is passing on the request for support and asking our Industrial Members to assist with the requirements for:

(i) Empty, refillable oxygen cylinders with 10-litre and 45-litre LMO capacity;

(ii) Oxygen concentrators;

(iii) In-situ oxygen manufacturing plants for hospitals; and

 If you can supply any of the above, or if there are any other items, services or support that you, your supply chain or your wider network can provide, please email
