TWI Project Leader, Valerio Carollo is due to give a talk at the upcoming Powder Metallurgy and Additive Manufacturing Workshop on 2 July, 2019.
Valerio will present on the subject of ‘Simulating Additive Manufacturing Processes: From Microstructure to Distortion.’
The presentation will provide an overview on the numerical modelling strategies for the simulation of additive manufacturing processes. The overview is based on applications of aluminium additively manufactured parts and will include, models for the prediction of residual stresses and distortions, microstructure and mechanical properties, and design optimisation.
The workshop, which will take place at the Telford Campus of Wolverhampton University, has been organised by the Aluminium Federation (ALFED) and is an example of the ongoing collaborative work between TWI Ltd and ALFED to promote the use of aluminium for industry.
