Apprentice software engineer, Jordan Hollingsworth has successfully completed his Level 4 Software Development Apprenticeship with TWI.
The apprenticeship, which is the equivalent of a Foundation Degree, was due to take 18 months to complete, but Jordan managed to finish his course in just 15 months while working at TWI.
Working with his training provider, Firebrand Training, Jordan completed three projects while at TWI in order to demonstrate his competence and skills ahead of his final project and interview.
Jordan chose to train with TWI near Cambridge as it is a local company for him, but reveals that he plans to stay on and begin a 4-year degree apprenticeship, as he revealed, saying, “I really enjoyed my apprenticeship at TWI and I plan to stay here.”
Aside from offering genuine on-the-job experience, the degree apprenticeship will also mean that Jordan will gain his qualification without paying tuition fees.
Software Development Manager, Mark Chinery, who oversaw Jordan’s Software Development Apprenticeship, said, “Apprenticeships are an excellent way to move from academia to the world of work. Jordan has proven a success with this and we look forward to him continuing with us to complete his degree.”
TWI’s I.T. department are now preparing to take on a new apprentice to follow in Jordan’s footsteps as part of our wider corporate and business support staff.
