Following a series of interactions with Nippon Steel and Sumitomo Metal Corp. (NSSMC), TWI is pleased to announce the secondment of Mr Kenta Yamada, at TWI laboratories in Cambridge.
Mr Yamada will be investigating "establishing a best practice guide for welding of newly developed duplex stainless steel seamless pipes."
This collaboration will not only provide benefits for their industry but, following arrangements with the University of Leicester, will also lead to a PhD qualification for Mr Yamada, upon completion and write up of the work.
This joint working agreement, arranged with the help of a number of dedicated TWI staff, will not only lead to original research but also serves to further our relationship with an important Member company.
