Graduates (including post-doctoral graduates) drive the engine of TWI’s business by running and managing technical projects for TWI’s industrial members.
New graduates usually start as Project Leaders, where a typical role will include managing client-confidential projects for a single client, as well as potential to contribute to TWI’s core research into all aspects of materials and joining technologies. The responsibility of the Project Leader follows from the first enquiry from the client, through to issuing the proposal, and then the final project delivery.
With experience, Graduates take on the roles of Senior Project Leader and may progress to Principal Project Leader and ultimately Consultant. Where projects for individual members become larger (several hundred thousand pounds or more), research can become more specialised, you may also find yourself managing larger projects sponsored by a group of member companies.
