In-Service Inspection of Ageing Plant

Webinars 30 June 2025

Join our NDT and Condition Monitoring Technical Group (TG8) Webinar:

Back-to-Basics: In-service Inspection of Ageing Plant

Most standards and specifications relating to NDT are focused on inspection at the time of manufacture. However, all operating plant will gradually degrade during its service life, so that in-service inspections are necessary to ensure it continues to function efficiently and safely.

This webinar will cover an understanding of NDT and in-service inspection of ageing plant.

Who should attend?

Engineers responsible for the efficient and safe operation of plant and constructions during operation, and for maintenance and inspection planning in the oil and gas production, petrochemical, wind power, pipelines, bridges sectors.

What will you learn?

This webinar will enable participants to:

  • Identify common degradation mechanisms.
  • Understand how NDT for in-service inspection can be tailored to search for these.
  • Understand the impact of well-designed in-service inspections on plant integrity and operational life.

Experts from industry will be presenting on a range of topics:

  • Dr Channa Nageswaran, Technology Consultant, TWI Ltd - Ultrasonic Testing for Cracks
  • Dr Chi Lee, Senior Corrosion Engineer, TWI Ltd - Damage Mechanisms Related to Ageing Equipment
