Dates have now been scheduled for the next round of TWI Innovation Network (TWIIN) training courses – so if you have technology concepts and projects you plan to develop into bids for public funding in the coming months – now is the time to plan ahead if you would like to attend!
The courses are part of a training programme, launched in early 2022, that focuses on upskilling researchers, project leaders/managers and administrative staff working in the private sector, higher education institutions, research and technology organisations and other research-performing bodies, on Horizon Europe (HE) proposal bidding and project finances.
Whilst the programme is specifically aligned to the EU’s HE programme, the majority of the capabilities and knowledge attendees can expect to gain through the training is transferable to other public funding domains, such as Innovate UK.
So what can you expect if you attend one of the courses? Firstly, our two training course leaders, TWI’s Heidi Dyson, Group Manager, Public Funding Management, and James Foden, Section Manager, Technology Innovation Management, are highly experienced in pre- and post-award research delivery, and bring with them around 30 years’ combined experience in ‘expert evaluation’ in the collaborative, public funding arena, so they know what it takes to make a winning concept or proposal. Their approach is grounded in reality and best practice rather than delivering textbook material, and comprises taught modules with hands-on ‘class’ exercises. Secondly, a primary strand of TWIIN’s core business since the early 2,000s has been, and continues to be, successfully managing a large pipeline of research proposals through the bidding process, therefore, attendees can be confident that the courses are fit-for-purpose.

We also offer the courses as in-house training, either onsite at TWI Cambridge, online for your staff or delivered in-person at your organisation’s premises (subject to location). This option provides a more customised training course experience for clients who require a bespoke approach.
