TWI Innovation Network (TWIIN) is running an online workshop on 30 June 2021, 09.00 – 12.00 BST - TWI Innovation and Research: Partner Matching and Brokerage - designed to offer UK and European businesses the opportunity to get involved in the EU’s new €95.5 billion Horizon Europe funding programme for technology projects.
This will be the first in a series of workshops, each concentrating on a different topic area, which aim to identify mutually beneficial collaboration opportunities – linking business challenges, cutting-edge innovation and commercial entrepreneurialism to create long lasting change – and to support TWI Industrial Members to meet their strategic research and development R&D ambitions, leveraging TWI’s technical competences together with its wider network of partners and specialist organisations.
Each event will offer attendees the potential to match their company’s research and development (R&D) interests and ambitions to current project ideas being explored by TWI technology experts and TWIIN’s Innovation Centres, as well as meet prospective new partners from across Europe with a view to forming new relationships and joining project consortiums.
The events will cover specific topics, based on exploring the key industrial challenges the EU is seeking to address via new technology solutions, such as digital transformation, the drive for net zero, health, the food and bio economies, and more. The workshops’ format will include: pitches to introduce new technology ideas that are being considered by TWIIN partners as areas for collaborative R&D; networking and company / organisation match-making sessions; as well as external speakers on industry challenges and the funding landscape.
The workshops will be led by TWI’s Technology Innovation Management team (TIM) who are highly experienced in all aspects of public funding – from identifying and addressing challenges and opportunities, concept development and consortium building – through to proposal writing, financial management and project bid submission. Since 2008, the TIM team has been instrumental in securing around 445 funded projects via public funding, to the value of circa £513 million, involving over 1,000 individual partner organisations across Europe.
This first workshop on 30 June 2021 will focus on green transition and net-zero including advanced technologies in green and clean manufacturing, and the move to clean energy and industry through renewables, hydrogen and carbon capture, and sequestration.
