Thu, 18 November, 2021

TWI’s Research for Impact: R4I 2022 Conference is due to take place in Cambridge on 7-8 April 2022. This in-person event will comprise a conference and exhibition focused on UK and European project collaboration.

The two-day Conference will showcase a selection of successfully completed projects supported by funding secured from either the Horizon 2020 programme or Innovate UK, as well as the new technologies that have reached market readiness. These R&D projects saw TWI working alongside Industrial Member companies, SMEs from the UK, Europe and elsewhere, Innovation Centres and RTOs.

R4I 2022 will also highlight upcoming opportunities via the new Horizon Europe programme and offer a face-to-face means of meeting up with new and existing contacts. In addition, the Conference will provide information on alternative methods of raising funding for technology-based products with commercial potential, through talks from, and 1-2-1 sessions, with venture capitalists and business angels. Delegates will also be able to attend the associated exhibition alongside the conference schedule.

Heidi Dyson, Group Manager, Public Funding Management at TWI said “One of the aims of TWI is for us to align the research and development activities we undertake with our collaborative partners, with the EC and the UK’s strategies for taking innovation to market. One of the ways we do this is by evidencing the success of what we have collectively achieved over time, as well as communicating our ongoing plans for further technological and engineering-based advancement.” She continued “Therefore, the R4I 2022 Conference and exhibition will provide an ideal platform for these activities and demonstrate to industry, academic and governmental stakeholders the effectiveness of project consortiums composed of TWI and its partners, and their valuable contribution to the UK and EU’s innovation strategies.”
