TWI Innovation Network (TWIIN) is a dynamic, international, cross-industry network focused on collaboration, innovation and technology development. As well as working closely with companies and organisations of all sizes via initiatives such Technology Acceleration Programmes (TAPs), Private Technology Innovation Partnerships and Innovation Consultancy Services, TWIIN also plays a crucial role in nurturing the next generation of skilled engineers through TWI’s National Structural Integrity Research Centre (NSIRC).

NSIRC offers PhDs and MScs in partnership with leading UK universities, giving students a unique opportunity to undertake their research within the heart of industry at TWI’s headquarters building in Cambridge, UK.

Joint research and development is also the primary activity of TWI’s Innovation Centres which focus on a number of technology areas including, but not limited to, robotics, artificial intelligence (AI) and Industry 4.0, digital twin, structural integrity, joining, materials and composites, additive manufacturing and renewable energy.

At any given time, the Technology Innovation Management team is working on simultaneous collaborative proposals for public funding bids, from exploring technology concepts and identifying new funding calls, through to consortium formation and proposal submission.

“With so much going on, it can be a challenge to keep up-to-date with what is happening in TWIIN! With this in mind, we launched the TWI Innovation Network Newsletter in July 2019 and it is now issued regularly to a growing audience of recipients” explained Tat-Hean Gan, TWI Director of Innovation and Skills.
