NSIRC students Jessica Taylor and Pedro Santos, former student now TWI Project Leader Muhammad Shaheer, and apprentice technician Bethany Richards, represented The Welding Institute at Greenlight 4 Girls, a free event at Silverstone Circuit designed to inspire girls towards a future in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) subjects.
The event invited local girls, between the ages of 11 to 15, to participate in interactive activities alongside role models, whilst learning more about the STEM.
The event was the first of its kind and included workshops run by Stanley Black and Decker, an access-all-areas tour of the Envision Virgin Racing facilities, build their own robots workshop, the opportunity to examine a race car powered by battery technology and making polymer worms.
What is The Welding Institute...?
