Dawn of a New Year….and new hopes.
The year gone by, 2020, may be one of the most difficult years that many would have seen and experienced in the recent past. It witnessed a huge loss of lives, jobs, money, peace world-wide and the list goes on. No one anticipated that the pandemic situation would stretch this long and lead to such huge losses.
More than nine months have passed since the COVID 19 pandemic took hold and we are yet to return to our normal lives, while, in some countries, there appears to be a second surge. The ease with which the virus has spread, infecting many countries in the world and the damage it has produced, is unparalleled in the history of the modern world.
The pandemic situation has not only left a trail of destruction and despair, but has also left a silver lining in the clouds. It was an opportune time for everyone to review and modify their working procedures to enable new operations, many of them remotely, and declutter unwanted operational steps to maximise productivity and cost savings.
It is said that “when the going gets tough the tough get going.” True to this, TWI India had formulated strategies to tide over the situation with the introduction of virtual classes, Zoom courses and more. Encouraged by the overwhelming response from the market, these courses are still in place catering to the needs of industry. During this period, customised courses for specific customers have also been organised. Many professionals made intelligent use of their time to take up our certification programmes on Zoom to upskill themselves and get ready to take up senior positions in industries if an opportunity arises when the situation becomes normal. With the relaxations in lockdowns, TWI India continues to offer Zoom and virtual courses followed by classroom-based practical and classroom examinations.
The year has ended on a positive note with data indicating a steady decline in the new cases in many countries and the successful development of vaccines, giving the world the fervent hope that the virus can be contained in future and the damages can be reduced. The New Year 2021 is upon us and it brings with it new hopes and new dreams.
Wishing you all a very happy, prosperous, peaceful and pandemic-free New Year.
