TWI India successfully conducted the AUT Girth Weld Inspection Workshop, delivered online through theory and practical sessions, providing professionals with valuable knowledge and understanding of automated ultrasonic testing for the pipeline sector.
The workshop was led by Mr Sathish Murugan (NDT Manager), TWI India, who guided participants through the fundamental principles of girth weld inspection (Automated Ultrasonic Testing – AUT) and its application in pipeline inspection and quality assurance. The programme was designed to strengthen participants’ technical capabilities through instructor-led theoretical learning alongside live practical demonstrations of AUT equipment.
Participants gained practical familiarisation with the Pipewizard IX acquisition unit, AUT motorised scanner, and associated accessories. Participants gained an understanding of Technical sheet preparation, calibration procedures, data acquisition, data quality evaluation, and interpretation in accordance with applicable codes and standards.
The successful completion of the workshop reflects TWI India’s continued commitment to delivering high-quality technical training that equips engineers and AUT professionals with the skills required to meet the evolving demands of the pipeline industry.
