CSWIP Automated Ultrasonic Testing (AUT) Inspector
Is it for me?
This mechanized ultrasonic training course is suitable for you if you want to learn about the testing of girth welds using zonal discrimination with highly capable equipment, such as pipeWIZARD (Olympus) or other suitable AUT systems.
If you satisfy the experience criteria and other certification requirements as per CSWIP scheme document.
What will I learn?
Theoretical background of AUT zonal technique; Velocity measurements as per ASTM E1961; basics of PAUT & TOFD, advantages/disadvantages; in-depth knowledge of reference block and Pipe Wizard system; Setting up the scanner and Setup file preparation; Calibration Scan and requirements; Weld Scan, Assessment of data quality; knowledge of software, equipment, troubleshooting etc.
Training in accordance with the requirements of BS EN ISO 9712.
TWI can offer company employer specific AUT certification to ISO 9712.

- Reference block fabrication and requirements.
- Configure software for differing weld configurations
- Parts of scanner and assembly process.
- Calibration and Setup file creation.
- Data Acquisition and quality of data.
- Reporting.
