Continuous learning is essential for professionals working in inspection and quality assurance, where technical competence plays a critical role in ensuring safety and reliability. For Gudala Devaraju, participating in the SEASEP-funded Radiographic Interpretation (RI) Level 2 and Penetrant Testing (PT) Level 2 training at TWI India provided an opportunity to strengthen his expertise while supporting his long-term career aspirations.

Working in the oil and gas, petrochemical and industrial construction sectors, Gudala wanted to further develop his inspection knowledge and gain internationally recognised qualifications.

“I participated in the SEASEP NDT training programme to enhance my technical knowledge and practical skills in the field of Non-Destructive Testing. As a quality professional working in the oil & gas, petrochemical, and industrial construction sectors, I recognised the importance of continuously upgrading my competencies to meet industry standards and client requirements.”

The training has already made a positive impact on his professional development, improving both his technical capability and confidence in carrying out inspection activities.

“The training has had a positive impact on my professional development by improving both my technical knowledge and confidence in performing inspection activities. It has enhanced my understanding of defect identification, inspection procedures, reporting requirements, and industry best practices.”

For Gudala, earning internationally recognised certification is about more than career progression - it also provides greater stability and opportunities for his family.

“Receiving a professional certification is a significant achievement that contributes to both personal and family well-being. The certification validates my skills and knowledge, increasing my employability and competitiveness in the job market. This can lead to better career opportunities, improved job security and potential salary growth.”

The knowledge gained through the training is already helping him contribute to safer working environments by improving his understanding of defect detection and inspection best practices.

“The NDT training has strengthened my understanding of defect detection, risk assessment and inspection practices that are essential for maintaining safe operations. By applying proper inspection techniques and adhering to industry standards, I can contribute to a safer work environment, improve reliability and support the overall safety culture within the organisation.”

Looking ahead, Gudala remains committed to continuous professional development and sees further training as an important step towards achieving his career goals.

“My long-term career objective is to further develop my expertise in quality control, inspection and asset integrity management. I plan to pursue additional certifications and advanced training in NDT methods, welding inspection, coating inspection and quality management systems. Continuous professional development is essential in today’s competitive environment, and I remain committed to expanding my knowledge and skills through future training opportunities."
