R4i: Impacting Society through Research and Innovation

R4i: Impacting Society through Research and Innovation

Research 4 Impact (R4i) has grown out of the work of TWI to help promote and deliver collaborative research and development activities that align with the strategies of the European Commission and the UK.

It is a game changing initiative as we take innovative ideas to market working with our Industrial Members, the TWI Innovation Network (TWIIN), and the wider academic, business and industrial communities globally.

We have also been engaging with Carbon13, who work with founders to build start-ups that reduce CO₂ emissions and tackle the challenges of Net Zero by achieving a meaningful impact on emissions. As their founder and CEO, Chris Coleridge explained, “The Carbon13 venture building approach focuses on bringing commercial expertise and prospective commercial cofounders to accelerate the investment readiness of pre-seed stage ventures.  Informed and supported by our ecosystem of advisers and seasoned entrepreneurs within the Cambridge innovation cluster, we aim to develop high ambition, high impact ventures.”

There will also be a number of venture capitalists in attendance at this second R4i event hosted by TWI; the first being in 2013 where we celebrated the projects we delivered for the European Commission’s FP7.

R4i 2022 celebrates more than a framework as it aims to also highlight the expertise and passion for innovation among our staff and our collaborators across the globe through EC and UK funding (via IUK, research councils, BEIS).

This event will give you the opportunity to meet experts and find out more about the projects the R4i consortium has helped to promote, advance and deliver. This will include a number of projects that will have their own dedicated booths that you can visit in person.
