TWI India Signs MoU with SSRGSP, Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh

TWI India Private Limited (TWI India), a wholly owned subsidiary of TWI Ltd., United Kingdom, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Sant Shiromani Ravidas Global Skills Park (SSRGSP), Bhopal, Department of Technical Education, Skill Development & Employment, Government of Madhya Pradesh, to strengthen industry-relevant skills development, advanced technical training, and workforce readiness in Madhya Pradesh.

The MoU establishes a framework for collaboration between TWI India and SSRGSP to develop world-class training and laboratory infrastructure, establish Centre of Excellence, promote internationally benchmarked certification pathways, and facilitate technical knowledge exchange and capacity building.

Under the collaboration, the two organizations will jointly explore the establishment of a Welding and Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Centre of Excellence, combining SSRGSP’s infrastructure and skills development ecosystem with TWI India’s technical expertise in welding, inspection, NDT, structural integrity and allied engineering disciplines.

The collaboration will include the development and delivery of NCVET-aligned skills programmes, Training of Trainers (ToT), faculty upskilling, competency-based curricula, practical and industry-oriented training, workshops, seminars, and e-learning initiatives. The collaboration will cater to students, professionals, faculty and aspiring skilled workers through short-term programmes ranging from one week to two months and long-term programmes of up to one year.

A key objective of the MoU is to create pathways towards internationally recognized certifications such as CSWIP and BGAS-CSWIP in areas including welding, painting, plant inspection and non-destructive testing. The parties will also explore the development of new programmes in emerging and identified domains, including a proposed one-year Post Graduate Diploma in Asset Integrity Management (AIM), subject to the applicable approval and qualification framework.

The MoU also provides for exploring the strategic use of TWI’s Knowledge Bus/mobile skills demonstrations to promote awareness of infrastructure integrity and safety, practical applications of engineering skills, youth employability, continuous professional development, and greater participation of women in engineering and inspection-related fields.

In the esteemed presence of Dr. Mohan Yadav, Hon’ble Chief Minister, Government of Madhya Pradesh; Shri Gautam Tetwal, Hon’ble Minister of State, Department of Skill Development & Employment; and Smt. Krishna Gaur, Hon’ble Minister, Department of Backward Classes & Minorities Welfare, the MoU was exchanged between Mr. Venkat Ayyala, Associate Director, TWI India, and Ms. Aditi Garg, IAS, Chief Executive Officer, SSRGSP.

Speaking on the collaboration, TWI India expressed its deep appreciation for the opportunity to collaborate with SSRGSP and the Government of Madhya Pradesh. This collaboration represents a significant step towards bringing international standards, advanced technical knowledge and industry-oriented training to the skills development ecosystem in the state.

Through this collaboration, TWI India and SSRGSP aim to create sustainable pathways for skilling, upskilling and reskilling, enhance employability and career progression, and contribute to the development of a highly skilled, industry-ready workforce capable of meeting the requirements of both national and international industries.
