TWI India marked October and November 2025 as months of continuous learning and technical exchange with a three-part webinar series dedicated to the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code (BPVC) 2025 Edition. Each session was designed to help industry professionals stay informed about the latest code developments.
The ASME BPVC 2025 Edition introduces significant changes across multiple sections, reflecting advancements in design methodologies, material standards, and nondestructive examination techniques. Through these webinars, TWI India provided participants with a clear understanding of how these updates will influence engineering, manufacturing, and inspection practices across the pressure equipment industry.
Exploring Changes in Section VIII Division 1
The series began on 17 October 2025 with a focus on Section VIII Division 1, one of the most widely applied sections of the ASME Code governing pressure vessel fabrication. The session highlighted the latest revisions in design requirements, fabrication methods, and inspection standards. Attendees gained practical insights into how these changes would affect day-to-day manufacturing and quality assurance processes, ensuring their organisations remain compliant and efficient under the new code.
Delving into Section VIII Division 2 and Section IX
Building on this foundation, the second webinar, held on 24 October 2025, examined updates to Section VIII Division 2 and Section IX, which address design validation and welding qualifications respectively. Experts discussed the revised qualification and testing procedures, as well as the implications for material selection and weld performance standards. The session encouraged participants to review and realign their internal documentation, welding procedures, and quality programs to reflect the upcoming changes.
Final Session on Section I and Section V
The final webinar in the series took place on 7 November 2025, focusing on Section I (Power Boilers) and Section V (Nondestructive Examination). This session addressed the key updates shaping the future of boiler design, testing, and inspection. With the 2025 Edition soon becoming mandatory, the discussion helped participants understand the practical aspects of compliance—particularly in areas involving revised NDE techniques, acceptance criteria, and safety provisions for power boilers.
Empowering Professionals Through Continuous Learning
By hosting these sessions, TWI India reaffirmed its commitment to promoting industry-wide learning and technical advancement. The ASME BPVC webinar series not only provided clarity on complex code revisions but also encouraged knowledge sharing among professionals across engineering, manufacturing, and inspection domains.
