CSWIP PHASED ARRAY ULTRASONIC TESTING (PAUT) TRAINING COURSE IN INDIA

Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing (PAUT) is an advanced non-destructive examination technique ideal for non-invasive material examinations, for finding flaws in welds and other components as well PAUT can also detect cracks, voids, and pits caused by corrosion.

Who should attend?

This course is suitable for experienced Level 2 qualified ultrasonic technician looking to expand their knowledge and gain a qualification in phased array ultrasonic testing certificate.

Entry Requirements

Candidates must hold a valid BS EN ISO 9712 Level 2 certification in ultrasonic inspection. Inspectors who do not have a valid BS EN ISO 9712 Level 2 certification in ultrasonic inspection are required to sit the CSWIP UT Welds Level 2 General Paper.

What will I Learn?

By the end of the course, you should be able to:

  • Explain the theoretical background of phased array applications
  • Correctly select probe/wedge to examine welded butt joints
  • Calibrate and set up the phased array ultrasonic equipment
  • Locate and evaluate flaws in the weld body, HAZ, and parent metal lamination
  • Analyse scan data for location and size of defects in typical welded butt joints
  • Accurately report weld condition
  • Differentiate defects from geometric features
  • Compile a written instruction
  • Meet the CSWIP syllabus requirements

Training requirements:

The minimum required duration of training, which includes both theoretical and practical elements, is:

  • Level 1 - 80 hours
  • Level 2 - 40 hours (Direct Level 2 - 104 hours)

Certification requirements:

The minimum duration for experience prior to or following success in the qualification examination is:

  • Level 1 - 3 months
  • Level 2 - 3 months (Direct Level 2: 6 months)

The training is in accordance with the requirements of BS EN ISO 9712 and ends with the certification examination.
