Course outline
- Introduction to NDT and its role in fabrication and quality control
- Visual Inspection: techniques, limitations and applications
- Surface methods: Magnetic Particle Testing (MT) and Penetrant Testing (PT)
- Eddy Current Testing (ET): principles and practical applications
- Radiographic Testing (RT): X- and gamma-radiography methods for internal examination
- Ultrasonic Testing (UT): flaw detection and weld inspection
- Choice of methods based on materials, geometry and defect type
- Practical demonstrations and supervised hands-on sessions (70% of course time)
Prerequisites
Basic high school education is sufficient. No prior NDT experience required. The course is designed for beginners and those looking to start a career in inspection and quality control.
Assessment & Certification
Participants will be assessed through a formal examination. On successful completion, delegates receive a joint certificate from ASME and TWI India.
