IIW Diploma of International Specialist (IWS)

This qualification is suitable for personnel with basic technical knowledge who are responsible for planning, executing, supervising and testing of simple welded constructions in a limited technical field.

IIW Diploma of International Specialist (IWS) consists of 6 modules and in order to get certified as a specialist, candidates need to successfully complete all 6 modules. The modules can be taken in any order within 3 years but Fabrication and Application module is typically done as the last module.

What are the entry requirements for the specialist level?

Technical Certificate (Level 3) issued by a Medium or Higher Technical Institute / School
CV and certificate / transcripts MUST be submitted for verification and assessment by WIM ANB

Note: If you do not meet the Specialist level entry requirements, WIM ANB will require you to pass a free entry examination before starting the diploma. This exam can be taken at our training centre in Shah Alam. The entry exam is a 45-minute paper made up of 30 multi-choice questions on basic science and mathematics.
