SEASEP Student Testimonial: Ms. Kawinthida Sommanonai

Fri, 12 December, 2025

Ms. Kawinthida Sommanonai recently completed CSWIP 3.0 Visual Welding Inspection under South East Asia Skills Enhancement Programme (SEASEP), she shared that her company informed her about SEASEP Programme. After that, reviewing the details on TWI Thailand Facebook Page, she saw that CSWIP 3.0 Visual Welding Inspection course was relevant to her current job responsibilities, and TWI Thailand was also offering Women Free Class Campaign, coinciding with Women’s Day. Therefore, she decided to apply.

Strengthening Professional Skills and Confidence

Before attending the training, her understanding of visual welding inspection came mainly from workplace exposure. The course provided the clarity she needed—particularly in recognising different types of defects and understanding acceptance criteria.

“After completing the course, I gained a much clearer understanding of visual inspection. I can now identify defects and apply acceptance criteria confidently in my work.”

This structured learning has significantly enhanced her accuracy and efficiency during real-world inspection tasks.

Certification That Builds Trust and Credibility

Achieving the CSWIP 3.0 certification marked a turning point in Ms. Sommanonai’s career. Her supervisor now places greater trust in her ability to carry out visual welding inspections, and the certification serves as proof of her competence and dedication.

“Passing the exam has helped me earn more trust from my supervisor. The certification shows I have the required skills, and it has increased my credibility at work.”

Beyond technical skills, the Working Safely training has influenced how she approaches her tasks. With a heightened awareness of hazards and safety standards, she now incorporates safe practices into her daily routine and shares them with her team.

Driven to grow further, Ms. Sommanonai is already planning her next step. She aims to pursue the CSWIP 3.1 Welding Inspector certification to deepen her technical expertise and expand her responsibilities.

“I want to gain more experience and move on to CSWIP 3.1 so I can work at a higher level in welding inspection.”

At TWI Thailand, we are proud to support motivated professionals like Ms. Sommanonai through the SEASEP programme. With each step, we are committed to helping individuals gain valuable skills, contribute to safer workplaces, and advance confidently in their careers.
