TWI Malaysia was honoured to participate in the Festival of Ideas at Student Research Day (FOI@SRD) 2026, held at Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT). Selected as one of only 20 organisations invited to exhibit, TWI Malaysia proudly joined leading industry partners, government agencies, and Government-Linked Companies (GLCs) in supporting innovation, research, and talent development.
The Festival of Ideas at Student Research Day is a dedicated initiative designed to strengthen collaboration between academia and industry by creating opportunities for knowledge exchange, research commercialisation, and strategic partnerships. The event brought together students, researchers, academics, and industry professionals to explore innovative ideas and emerging technologies that contribute to Malaysia’s future development.
Throughout the two-day exhibition, TWI Malaysia showcased its internationally recognised expertise in engineering, welding technology, inspection, training, and certification. Visitors had the opportunity to learn more about TWI Malaysia’s technical capabilities and its commitment to supporting industry through innovative engineering solutions and professional development programmes.
The event also served as a comprehensive platform for undergraduate and postgraduate students to present their research, providing valuable exposure to industry representatives while encouraging innovation and critical thinking. By connecting students with professionals from various sectors, FOI@SRD 2026 helped nurture the next generation of engineering talent and strengthen relationships between academia and external stakeholders.
