TWI Malaysia and The Welding Institute of Malaysia (WIM) were honoured to welcome a distinguished delegation from the German city of Essen during a strategic visit to DSI Symtrace Sdn Bhd (DSI Malaysia), reinforcing international collaboration in engineering innovation and advanced manufacturing.
As part of the visit, the delegation toured DSI Malaysia, a leading Malaysian engineering company specialising in advanced Pulsed Laser Welding technology for industrial repair and precision metal rebuilding applications. DSI Malaysia has introduced ALPHA LASER systems, manufactured in Puchheim, Germany, to Malaysia’s heavy industry sector, enabling innovative welding solutions that enhance repair efficiency and component longevity.
The advanced Pulsed Laser Welding technology offers highly localised and precisely controlled metal rebuilding with significantly lower heat input than conventional welding methods. This minimises distortion, preserves material integrity, and delivers high-quality repairs for critical industrial components across a range of engineering applications.
The visit provided an excellent opportunity for knowledge exchange and discussions on technological innovation, advanced manufacturing capabilities, and future opportunities for international collaboration. It also highlighted the growing importance of cross-border partnerships in driving engineering excellence and supporting industrial development.
Hosting this high-level delegation represents a significant milestone for WIM and TWI Malaysia, further strengthening their role as trusted partners within the engineering sector and enhancing their international presence. Through fostering meaningful global partnerships, TWI Malaysia remains committed to supporting technological advancement, industry innovation, and the continued development of engineering expertise across the region.
TWI Malaysia looks forward to building on these relationships and creating new opportunities for collaboration that contribute to the future of engineering and manufacturing in Malaysia and beyond.
