TWI Malaysia recently facilitated a Remote Operated Vehicle (ROV) inspection testing session at its dedicated testing pool facility, supporting subsea inspection and operational assessment activities for the oil and gas industry.
The testing was conducted for an ROV inspection class programme requested by a full-service oil and gas provider company. The session involved practical inspection and testing activities using the ROV system within TWI Malaysia’s pool facility, providing a controlled environment for operational evaluation and performance assessment. The testing activities were witnessed by the client as part of the inspection and verification process.
The session also provided an opportunity for both parties to discuss potential future collaboration in subsea-related activities. Among the key areas explored were the possibility of establishing an ROV training tie-up, as well as cooperation in other subsea inspection, testing, and technical training initiatives.
Through facilities such as its ROV testing pool and technical expertise in engineering and inspection services, TWI Malaysia continues to support industry development in subsea technologies, inspection capabilities, and workforce competency enhancement for the oil and gas sector.
