TWI South East Asia welcomed a delegation from the Department for Business, Innovation, Science and Trade (DBIST) APAC to TWI Malaysia for a knowledge-sharing visit focused on technical education, skills development, and workforce capability across the Asia-Pacific region.
The visit provided an excellent platform for meaningful discussions on the evolving needs of industry and the importance of developing a highly skilled workforce through industry-relevant training and internationally recognised certification programmes.
During the visit, the delegation was introduced to TWI SEA’s training facilities and gained insight into the organisation’s role in supporting professionals and organisations across South East Asia through specialist education in welding, non-destructive testing (NDT), inspection, and engineering technologies. The discussions also highlighted TWI SEA’s commitment to bridging the gap between industry requirements and technical competency development.
As part of the programme, the delegation toured TWI Malaysia’s facilities, where they explored the practical learning environment and observed how TWI delivers hands-on, industry-focused training designed to enhance workforce readiness and support regional economic growth.
The visit reinforced the shared commitment of both organisations to advancing technical education, strengthening industry partnerships, and fostering skills development that meets the demands of modern manufacturing and engineering sectors.
