TWI Malaysia recently conducted a one-day comprehensive Welding Training Programme for professionals from a leading electronics corporation, designed to strengthen both theoretical understanding and practical skills in welding.
The programme was developed to bring together participants from diverse professional backgrounds, including both technical personnel and management professionals. By harmonising participation across these groups, the session ensured that all attendees gained a clear and practical understanding of welding principles, processes, and industry best practices.
The training combined classroom-based theoretical learning with hands-on practical training using Augmented Reality (AR) welding simulation technology. This immersive learning environment allowed participants to experience realistic welding scenarios while safely practising techniques and understanding key parameters in a controlled setting.
Through this innovative approach, participants were able to visualise welding processes more effectively while gaining practical insights into welding operations, quality control, and safety considerations. The integration of AR technology also enabled immediate feedback and performance analysis, helping learners refine their techniques and better understand the impact of welding parameters.
By the end of the programme, participants gained several valuable outcomes, including:
- A strong foundation in welding fundamentals and key industry principles
- Hands-on exposure to welding practices through AR simulation technology
- Improved understanding of welding techniques, parameter control, and safety requirements
- Industry-relevant skills aligned with modern welding training standards
This initiative reflects TWI Technology’s continued commitment to supporting industry through innovative training methods that combine technical expertise with advanced learning technologies. By integrating emerging tools such as AR into professional development programmes, TWI continues to enhance the effectiveness of training while preparing professionals for the evolving demands of modern manufacturing and engineering environments.
