TWI Thailand recently participated in the Workshop: Assessment Tools for Diploma Curriculum Standard, held from 18–20 July 2025 at the Thai-Austrian Technical College, Chonburi. The workshop was part of an initiative by the Office of the Vocational Education Commission (OVEC), aimed at enhancing quality assurance and professional standards within Thailand’s vocational education system.
As the education sector adapts to evolving industry needs, OVEC has launched a strategic project to improve the credibility, consistency, and relevance of diploma-level education assessments. In alignment with this vision, Thai-Austrian Technical College brought together a diverse group of professionals and experts from across the country for this three-day workshop.
A Convergence of Technical Expertise
The workshop focused on building robust assessment tools for three crucial fields within vocational training:
- Mechatronics and Robotics
- Instrumentation and Control Systems
- Non-Destructive Testing (NDT)
TWI Thailand was invited to contribute to the NDT domain, and Mr. Satanphop Amsupan, Country Manager at TWI Thailand, represented the organization as a technical specialist. With a wealth of experience in inspection, training, and standardisation within the NDT field, Mr. Amsupan provided valuable insights into aligning curriculum assessments with real-world industry practices.
Building for the Future
The primary objective of the workshop was to collaboratively enhance the standard assessment tools for the upcoming 2024 Diploma curriculum. This effort is expected to contribute significantly to the quality and consistency of vocational education assessments nationwide.
By involving industry leaders like TWI Thailand, the workshop fostered a dynamic exchange between academia and practical industry demands. This approach ensures that students graduating from vocational programs are not only well-versed in theory but also ready to meet the expectations of modern technical careers.
Looking Ahead
As Thailand continues to invest in skills development and vocational training, the collaboration between government bodies, technical colleges, and global organisations like TWI is essential. Workshops like these pave the way for a more competent, job-ready workforce, capable of supporting Thailand’s industrial growth and technological progress.
