TWI Thailand proudly took part in World Culture Week 2025, a global celebration across TWI’s international offices dedicated to honoring the diverse traditions, values, and identities that enrich our global community. Held from 20th to 24th May, this vibrant week of activities brought teams together through shared experiences, traditional flavors, and cultural pride.
A Taste of Thailand: Celebrating Color & Flavor of My Culture Day
On Wednesday, 21st May, TWI Thailand immersed itself in “Color & Flavor of My Culture Day”, a special event that invited employees to wear traditional or culturally inspired attire and share treats that represent their heritage. Colleagues came dressed in beautiful Thai outfits—ranging from elegant silk garments to contemporary cultural attire—capturing the essence of Thai tradition and identity. The office was alive with colors, smiles, and the sound of cameras clicking during team photo moments that celebrated unity in diversity.
No cultural celebration in Thailand would be complete without food. TWI Thailand showcased two iconic Thai dishes that reflect the depth and flavor of its rich culinary history: Khao Kluk Kapi (Shrimp Paste Fried Rice) and Khao Niew Mamuang (Mango Sticky Rice).
Khao Kluk Kapi: A Royal Legacy
Khao Kluk Kapi, or shrimp paste fried rice, has roots in Thailand’s Rattanakosin era royal kitchens. Originally created to repurpose leftover rice, this dish is stir-fried with fragrant Thai shrimp paste and served with an array of toppings like sweet pork, green mango, shallots, chili, and shredded omelet. The dish is a perfect example of Thai culinary artistry, balancing sweet, salty, spicy, and sour notes in one harmonious meal. It was a favorite among attendees and sparked conversations about Thai heritage and traditional cooking methods.
Mango Sticky Rice: A Beloved Dessert
No celebration of Thai cuisine would be complete without the universally loved Mango Sticky Rice. This dish, made from glutinous rice mixed with coconut milk and served with ripe mango slices, reflects the country’s deep connection to its agricultural roots. Enjoyed during the summer mango season, it symbolizes Thailand’s dessert culture — simple, elegant, and delicious. TWI Thailand’s homemade version was a hit, delighting colleagues and showcasing the country’s flair for turning natural ingredients into culinary masterpieces.
Celebrating Unity in Diversity
World Culture Week 2025 was more than just an opportunity to dress up and enjoy good food. It was a heartfelt celebration of inclusion, where each dish, outfit, and conversation served as a reminder of the diverse tapestry that defines TWI. By sharing the flavors and stories of Thailand, TWI Thailand played a vital role in building bridges across continents and creating a stronger, more connected global team.
As TWI continues to grow across borders, events like these reinforce the value of cultural understanding and mutual respect—core to who we are as an organization.
