Roncelli Plastic Sdn. Bhd., a key player in the semiconductor industry, recently took a proactive step toward strengthening its technical capabilities by enrolling its staff in TWI’s specialised In-House Plastic Welding Course. The intensive three-day training was conducted at TWI KL from 21–23 April 2025, led by the experienced lecturer, Mr Ahmad Izzat bin Anuar.
The participants, consisting of a QA personnel, a supervisor, a CNC technician, and a plastic welder, brought with them a combined industry experience of five years. The goal was clear: to deepen their knowledge of Hot Gas welding and related inspection techniques, while gaining hands-on exposure to a range of plastic welding methods.
Throughout the course, the team was introduced to five key plastic welding processes:
- Butt Fusion (BF)
- Socket Fusion (SF)
- Electrofusion (EF)
- Hot Gas Welding (HG)
- Extrusion Welding (EX)
Covering both theoretical and practical aspects, the training focused on welding techniques for Polyethylene (PE), Polypropylene (PP), and Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) materials. The structured curriculum not only introduced proper welding procedures, but also provided reference materials for the development of internal plastic welding procedures—particularly relevant for their QA and supervisory roles.
Roncelli Plastic chose TWI for its ability to deliver in-depth understanding of plastic welding mechanisms and techniques. As an HRDC-approved training centre, TWI offers a unique learning environment where multiple welding processes are taught under one comprehensive course—making it a practical and cost-effective choice for companies in high-precision industries like semiconductors.
The training not only met the client’s technical objectives but also empowered participants to apply their new skills in real-world applications—an investment that is set to support Roncelli Plastic’s continued growth and commitment to quality.
