As the vibrant colours of Chinese New Year enveloped TWI Malaysia on the auspicious date of 12th February 2024, the spirit of unity and prosperity filled the air. The event, meticulously planned and executed, symbolized not only the traditional customs of the festival but also the core values of inclusion, diversity, and teamwork that TWI holds dear.
The festivities commenced at a punctual 11.30 am, in accordance with Chinese beliefs that favour auspicious timings. The entrance of the Lion Dance troupe, accompanied by the resounding crackle of firecrackers, marked the beginning of a day filled with joyous activities. Led by the Management Team, the lighting of firecrackers not only set the stage for the event but also served as a symbolic gesture to ward off evil spirits and invite good luck.
The celebration continued with the traditional lion blessing activities, where the energetic lions roamed around the TWI office premises, bringing blessings and prosperity to every workstation. The green plucking tradition, a symbolic gesture to bless TWI’s business endeavours for the year ahead, further reinforced the spirit of hope and abundance.
Amidst the vibrant festivities, all TWI employees were treated to a sumptuous lunch, fostering camaraderie and unity amongst colleagues from diverse backgrounds. The communal meal provided an opportunity for everyone to come together and celebrate the spirit of togetherness that defines TWI’s work culture.
The highlight of the event was undoubtedly the speech delivered by TWI Group Director, EurIng Prof Dr. Gan Tat Hean. With inspiring words that echoed the values of perseverance, innovation, and collaboration, Prof. Gan reaffirmed TWI’s commitment to excellence and success in the year ahead. His motivational address resonated with employees, instilling a sense of pride and determination to achieve greater heights collectively.
Adding an element of excitement to the festivities, a lucky draw was held, offering employees the chance to win attractive prizes. The crowning of the prom king and queen further added a touch of glamour and fun to the celebration, showcasing TWI’s appreciation for individuality and diversity.
As the event drew to a close, TWI Group Director, EurIng Prof Dr. Gan Tat Hean personally distributed ang pow packets to all employees, symbolizing blessings of good fortune and prosperity. His gesture underscored TWI’s commitment to caring for its employees and fostering a culture of mutual respect and appreciation.
