Transforming Welding Skills through AR Training

Mon, 30 October, 2023

In July 2023, TWI and Seabery formed a dynamic relationship to enhance the development of welding education, to revolutionize the industry. This ground-breaking cooperation brings together the knowledge and experience of TWI, a well-known technology solutions provider, and Seabery, a global pioneer in Augmented Reality (AR)-based simulation education. By signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), these two companies are prepared to transform welding training by leveraging Seabery's Soldamatic simulator's cutting-edge digital multimedia technology.

With the establishment of the TWI Augmented Reality (AR) Welding Training, the development of the welding education industries can be elevated to another level. By applying the TWI Welding Syllabus, the AR Welding Training will focus on theoretical learning as well as practical learning along the AR Welding Training courses which cover the main arc welding processes used by industry. Whether manual or semi-auto, including TIG, MMA, MAG, MIG and FCAW. TWI experienced trainers with considerable expertise and knowledge in welding will guide participants through the courses. Their knowledge and experience ensure that participants receive high-quality education and important insights throughout their training journey.

The TWI AR Welding Training provides a safe and highly effective method for improving welding skills. Its ability to offer actual scenarios, instant feedback, and customization options makes it a valuable asset in the actual practice of the welding industry, which will result in the creation and development of skilled welders with advanced welding skills and enhanced safety awareness.

With the experience and knowledge from TWI and the technological expertise from Seabery, both are taking a proactive step to meet the growing demand for skilled welders in various sectors, including manufacturing, construction, and aerospace. This innovative approach will empower students to practice welding in diverse scenarios and master a wide range of techniques, ultimately preparing them for successful careers in the welding industry.

TWI's plans to begin AR Welding Training enrolment in the first quarter of 2024 is a significant step forward in the field of welding education. As the launch date approaches, prospective students and those interested in AR Welding Training should stay tuned for enrolment details and course offerings from TWI. This forward-looking initiative promises to transform the way welders are trained and will contribute to a safer, more efficient, and environmentally responsible welding industry
