Currently working as a QA/QC and Discharge Manifold Equipment (DME) Inspector at Halliburton Overseas Limited – Angola, Alexandre plays a critical role in ensuring the integrity and reliability of equipment used in oil and gas operations. His work involves inspecting, maintaining, requalifying, and rebuilding Discharge Manifold Equipment, carrying out non-destructive testing (NDT), conducting quality assurance checks, mentoring junior inspectors, and ensuring strict compliance with Halliburton’s quality management systems.
Alexandre’s career in inspection began in 2019 and has steadily progressed through increasingly responsible technical roles. He first gained experience as a Visual Welding Inspector and NDT Level II Inspector on the Cabinda Oil Refinery Project, where he inspected storage tanks, pipelines, and process piping in accordance with international standards. He later advanced to a Junior QA/QC Welding Inspector, supporting fabrication activities for offshore platform construction before joining Halliburton, where he now specialises in equipment integrity and quality control.
With a Technical High School Diploma in Metalworking and Mechanical Engineering, a Bachelor’s Degree in English Language Teaching for the Oil and Gas Industry, and a Master’s Degree in Integrated Management currently in progress, Alexandre has continually invested in expanding both his technical expertise and professional capabilities.
Driven by Angola’s Industrial Growth
Alexandre’s decision to specialise in plant inspection is closely connected to Angola’s evolving industrial landscape.
As one of Africa’s leading oil-producing nations, Angola continues to invest heavily in major downstream projects, including the Cabinda Oil Refinery, the Soyo and Lobito refineries, and other strategic oil, gas, petrochemical, and power generation facilities. With these developments comes an increasing need for highly qualified inspection professionals who can help ensure the safety, reliability, and long-term integrity of critical industrial assets.
Recognising that Angola currently faces a shortage of qualified plant inspection specialists, Alexandre saw an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to his country’s future while advancing his own career.

For him, obtaining a globally recognised qualification was a strategic investment in both his career and his ability to deliver greater value to his employer.
The course has strengthened his understanding of pressure equipment inspection, piping systems, asset integrity, and inspection methodologies in accordance with internationally recognised codes and standards. It has also reinforced the technical knowledge required to support safer operations, improve equipment reliability, and reduce operational risks across complex industrial facilities.
Looking ahead, Alexandre plans to continue expanding his expertise through additional internationally recognised certifications, including API certifications and CSWIP qualifications in Welding Inspection, Coating Inspection, Painting Inspection, and Corrosion Inspection.
